Santa
Monica's parish was founded. Father
Patrick Hawe was appointed as its first
pastor.
1908
Fr.
Hawe founded St. Anne's chapel and school
as a mission of St. Monica's parish.
He engaged the people of the community
in the effort and the Chapel was built
in a week.

1923
The
first shrine was built around the relic of St. Anne
which Fr. Hawe had brought to the Chapel in 1913.
Fr.
Hawe passed away in September of 1923. His St. Anne's
School opened one week later
